Speech Therapy

Katie Zoucha, M.S., CCC-SLP

The Health Center's Speech Language Pathologist provide services for patients of all ages that are experiencing difficulty with speech, language, swallowing or thinking. These difficulties often occur as a result of acquired brain injuries such as stroke or traumatic brain injury or from neurological disease processes such as ALS, Parkinson's Alzheimer's and Multiple Sclerosis. The goal of speech therapy is to restore as much function as possible and to help patients compensate for that which cannot be restored. Although most school systems provide speech therapy services for children from birth to age 21, there are times when the severity of disability requires additional help from a medically based Speech Language Pathologist.
